How to select a cremation urn?

In selecting a cremation urn, first visualize the type of cremation urns that are available. Also think about what types of things the person may have had in their home and choose an urn that symbolized their taste. Additionally take into consideration, is this cremation urn going to placed within a cemetery or is it going to placed somewhere in the home.

Furthermore, what are the wishes of your children, do they wish to have a portion of the cremated cremains (ashes). If some of your children wish to have a small portion of the cremains, you might want to select cremation keepsake urns so they are able to take a portion, this is a very common practice nowadays.

If you are going to place the urn within a cemetery check with them, what are the rules and regulations for placing a cremation urn within their memorial park? You would not want to select an urn for cremains and find out they don't accept the cremation urn you have chosen.

Finally, when selecting an urn for cremation, remember all cremation keepsake urns do not fit all people. The cremation urns are based on cubic inches; one cubic inch per pound of body weight is a good average. So if the person weighed (200) two hundred pounds you would want to select an urn that could (200) two hundred cubic inches.
